I’ve actually enjoyed that meme a lot. My favourites have been on the philosophy side. E.g. a picture of Amrish Puri and Om Puri (two extraordinarily extensive and famous Indian actors, both deceased) with the caption: “Gonna tell my kids this was Derrida and Foucault.”
My favourite was after Daft Punk announced they would no longer make music. Someone posted a pic of them in their shiny helmets and declared: “Gonna tell my kids this was Deleuze＆Guattari.”
