I have friends who are like "I've got th whole story in my head now so I'm ready to write it" and they are like an alien species to me. Or I'll explain to people how I write and they'll go "but you know the ending right?" Lol, no, how would I if I haven't got to it yet?
Ha! I THINK my endings, once I get there, usually stay the same, but I do sometimes find myself heading off in the wrong direction, sometimes near the end, and then I have to start a new draft to fix it (because I can't just back up to where things started to go wrong like a normal person).
And I also follow your rule of "if it's boring to redraft [or to write in the first place], it's gonna be boring to read."
I write and revise the same way you do!

Every time I re-draft a story the ending changes. Every time. Haha.
